2009: Took over the catching duties full timeafter Hunter Nolen suffered a season-ending injury... Finished theseason leading the team in batting average, hitting .370 on theyear... Was fourth on the team with 12 doubles and tied for secondwith two triples... Struck out just 15 times in 127 at bats...Threw out 15 would-be base stealers... Tied the NCAA record forwalks in a game when he walked six times in the second game of adouble header against Texas-Pan American on May 19.
2007-08 (at Trinidad State): Helped TrinidadState to a 23-25 record in 2008.
Prep: 2006 graduate of Greeley West HighSchool... Earned four letters in baseball and three in football forthe Spartans... In his senior campaign was named the NorthernConference Player of the Year as well as an all-state selection...Earned three all-conference awards in baseball and two infootball... The Spartans won the conference title in both sports inhis final year.
