2010: One of just three Bears to play in all 58 games during the season ... As a sophomore, he was the most consistent Northern Colorado batter ... Finished the season with a team-leading .392 batting average ... Put together the nation's second-longest hitting streak of the season (41 games) ... Also led the team in runs (61), hits (87), and triples (8) ... Also finished second on the team with 11 home runs ... Named to the All-Great West First Team ... In a May 21st game against Chicago State, he hit for the cycle while knocking in five runs.
2009: Played in 41 of the team's 53 games, starting in 30... Hit .298 on the year and was successful in all four stolen base attempts... Ended the year on a three-game hitting streak... Has not struck out in his last 20 at bats... Started seven games in left field, 21 in centerfield and two in right... Was in the starting lineup in six different spots in the order, hitting everywhere but 3, 4 and 5... Playing for the Alaska Goldpanners over the summer, he went 3-for-4 in the 104th annual Midnight Sun game on the night of the summer solstice with the game beginning at 10:30 p.m. and played with no stadium lights.
Prep: A member of the 2005 and 2006 junior Olympic team, as well as a four year letterwinner for Broomfield High School... Namedto the 2006 all-Colorado First Team as a sophomore... A member of the honor roll every semester and a three-time All-State Academic selection... Captain of the Eagles as a senior... Hit .421 as a junior and .523 in his sophomore campaign... Helped the Eagles to the 2006 state title after going 12-for-18 in the tournament.
Personal: The youngest of two children of Richard and Kim Berggren with an older sister Melanya... Born Oct. 31, 1989 in Stockton, Calif... Plans on majoring in biology at Northern Colorado.
