2010: A stalwart in the Bears' lineup throughout the season, playing in all 58 games ... He started in 55 of those games ... Finished just behind Jarod Berggren for the team-lead in batting average (.391) ... Came across the plate 54 times in his junior season, good for third-best on the team ... He finished second on the team with 19 doubles ... Showed a lot of pop for the Bears, coming through with 32 extra base-hits, including 10 homeruns ... Led the team with 59 RBI ... He also showed plenty of patience at the plate, working a team-best 26 walks ... In a four-game set against the New Jersey Institute of Technology, he hit .471 (8-17), scoring eight runs and racking up eight RBI.
2009: Played in 46 of the team's 53 games, starting in 38 - all at second base... Hit .295 with 14 extra base hits and led the team with eight sacrifice hits... Was fifth on the team with nine doubles and third on the team with 23 base on balls... Tied for fourth on the team with eight two-hit games and was third on the squad with nine multi-RBI games... His eight-game hit streak tied for the fourth longest of the season ... Named to the first-team All-Great West as a second baseman.
2008: Played in 31 games, starting in 24 as a true freshman... Hit .265 with 22 hits, including nine for extra bases... Was successful in his only base stealing attempt... Was the only true freshman to see action on the season... Tallied a six-game hitting streak, hitting out of either the eight or nine spot in the lineup in all 24 starts.
Prep: 2007 graduate of Dakota Ridge... Was a three-sport athlete for the Eagles, earning three letters in baseball, two in football and one in basketball... Was a first-team all-conference pick his junior and senior years and was the DRHS athlete of the year... Hit .532 his senior year and was a four-year honor roll member.
Personal: Son of Christine and Jordan Berge... Father Jordan was an All-American for the Bears' baseball team in 1982 who was later drafted in the 27th round by the Cincinnati Reds.
