2009: Indoor: Competed in five meets,throwing both the shot put and weight throw... At the Air ForceInvitational, threw 12.76m in the shot put and 12.32m in the weightthrow for career bests in each. Outdoor: Started the seasonoff with personal bests in the shot put (11.88m), discus (44.03m)and hammer (41.43m)... Threw in seven meets during the season.
2008: Indoor: Threw the shot put andweight throw in four meets, with season bests of 11.50m in the shotput and 10.91m in the weight throw. Outdoor- Threw theshot put, discus and hammer... Season bests were 10.16m in the shotput, 41.63m in discus and 36.82 in the hammer throw.
Prep: 2007 graduate of Palmer High School...Competed in four years of football, three years of track and oneyear of baseball... A state qualifier in shot put and discus hissenior year and his team was state runner-up.
Personal: Born May 3, 1989 to Charles Smith andDebbie Calkins... Majoring in physical education.
