2009: Indoor: Competed only inshot for the regular indoor season, reaching a season best in theshot at the CSM Twilight open at 15.62m... Qualified for Big SkyConference Championships in the shot and was a wild card for theweight throw, placing seventh in the shot. Outdoor: Competed in shot put, discus, and hammer, where he placed in allevents in every meet of the season... Reached a careerpersonal best in the hammer throw during the Jack ChristiansenInvite with a throw of 53.60m... Qualified for Big SkyConference Championships in all three events, placing seventh inthe discus, seventh in the shot put, and eighth in the hammer.
2008: Indoor: Competed in shotand weight... Qualified for finals for both events in every indoormeet of the season and threw a personal best in the shot with athrow of 16.82m at the Mines All-Comers meet, also posting apersonal record in the weight with a 16.72m... Qualified for theBig Sky Conference Championships in both events.Outdoor: Competed in the shot put, discus, andhammer... Achieved a season best in the shot put of 15.97m at thePotts Invitational, a personal best in the hammer of 52.71m at theFront Range Championships, and a PR discus throw of 49.93m at theTom Benich Classic... Qualified for Big Sky Championshipswhere he placed eighth in the shot put, third in the discus to earnall-conference honors, and ninth in the hammer throw.
2007: Indoor: Competed in theshot put and weight throw... Qualified for the Big Sky ConferenceIndoor Championships where he threw his season best in both theshot (15.90m) and the weight (15.88m). Outdoor: Redshirted.
2006: Indoor: Redshirted.Outdoor: Competed in all four throwing events; shot put,discus, hammer, and javelin... Won the shot put title at theIndependent National meet, as well as finishing fourth in thehammer, and sixth in the discus... Awarded the Northern ColoradoFreshman Athlete of the Year.
Prep: 2005 graduate from La Junta HighSchool... Lettered all four years in football, wrestling, and track& field... Was captain of all three sports his final twoseasons... Awarded all-conference football in 2004 and was a statechampion in the discus in both 2004 and 2005... Also thestate champion in the shot put, and 3A State record holder with athrow of 57-5... Received all-state honors for track in 2004-2005.
