2010: Indoor: Competed in four meets, throwing shot put and weight in all four… Had a career-best throw of 35-5.25 in the shot put at the Don Barrett Air Force Duals and her career-best throw of 42-9.75 came at the Potts Invitational at CU. Outdoor: Advanced to the Big Sky Championship in the discus, where she placed 17th… Had career best throws of 133-9 in the discus at the Tom Benich Invitational and of 136-10 in the hammer at the Jack Christiansen Invitational.
2009: Indoor: Did what every coach wants from an athlete, getting better with every meet, culminating in a season-best throw of 11.43m in the weight throw in her final meet at the Air Force Invitational... Threw a personal best 10.65m in the shot the previous competition, the Don Barrett Duals. Outdoor: Continued her improvement throughout the outdoor season, tossing a personal best 39.47m in the hammer in the final meet, the Ram Open and had career-bests the previous week in both the shot put (10.96m) and discus (38.59m) at the Front Range Invitational.
2008: Indoor- Threw both the weight throw and shot put, posting a 9.98m in the shot put and the 10.32m in the weight throw. Outdoor- Threw shot put, discus and hammer with season-best throws of 10.32m, 34.20m and 35.60m, respectively.
Prep: 2007 graduate of La Junta High School... Earned one letter in volleyball, three in swimming and four in track... Was the regional champion in both the shot put and discus her senior year... Was the state runner-up in shot put her senior year... A member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Born February 23, 1989... The daughter of Ron and Betty Shepherd with one older brother, Stuart... Currently double majoring in nursing and dietetics.
