2018
- Started all 11 games at corner back.
- Led the team with nine pass breakups.
- Finished seventh on the team with 35 tackles.
- Second on the team with two interceptions.
- Blocked one kick on the season.
2017
- Swopes made an impact right away for Northern Colorado earning one of the starting corner back positions opposite Marshaun Cameron.
- He led the team with three interceptions one each coming against College of Idaho, Montana State and Montana. He also had eight pass break ups including three against MSU.
- The Mississippi native recorded 49 tackles on the year and had at least one in each game.
- Not only can Swopes play in pass coverage, but also stop the run with five tackles for a loss and one forced fumble and fumble recovery.
At Copiah-Lincoln Community College (2016): Was a ball hawk for the Wolves in 2016... Finished the season with nine PBUs, three INTs and two fumble recoveries... Notched 26 tackles in nine games for CLCC, including 2.0 Tackles For Loss... Led the team in PBUs and INTs... Earned Second Team All-State honors... Also returnted eight punts for 138 years on the year.
At Belhaven University (2015): Named Mississippi Player of the Year C Spire Trophy Semifinalist... Named First Team All-NCCAA Defensive Team... Played in all 10 games with nine starts... Had three kick returns for eight yards… Averaged 2.7 yards per kick return… Made 33 total tackles ... Made 25 solo tackles... Made eight assisted tackles ... Made 1.5 tackles for a loss, totaling two yards ... Made six interceptions to tie the school record and set a freshman record... Had 12 breakups, also tying a school record and setting a freshman record... Had 18 passes defended to set a school and freshman record... Forced two fumbles.
High School: Played wide receiver and cornerback as well as returned punts and kickoffs for Ocean Springs High School under head coach Ryan Ross... Four-letter recipient for the Greyhounds... Member of the Region 4-6A District Championship in 2014... Named to Second All-State Team with 56 tackles (41 solo), four tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries, scored six touchdowns on defense and kickoff... Named to All-Sun Herald Team, First Team All-Region and First Team All-Coast... Honored as Mississippi Scholar.
Personal: Son of Xavier and Charlotte... Has two siblings... Plans to major in Nutrition, Pre-Med or Nursing at UNC.
