2009: Is listed as the 12th best draft-eligible Free Safety according to nflscout.com... Named to the Big Sky All-Conference honorable mention team... A Big Sky All-Academic selection... Started in all 11 games and finished the season tied for third on the team with 74 total tackles... He and cornerback Korey Askew also each had three interceptions to tie for the team lead... Notched a career-best 13 tackles at Eastern Washington and followed it up with 12 against Portland State two weeks later.
2008: Was an honorable mention All-Big Sky Conference selection as well as a Big Sky All-Academic pick... Honored as an ESPN The Magazine District VII Academic All-Region... Started in all 11 games... Was second on the team in tackles with 79 and 6.5 tackles for loss behind second-team All-American Cristian Sarmento in both categories... Also tied for the team lead with three interceptions... Tallied at least four tackles in every game with a career-best 11 coming against Eastern Washington and he blocked a punt at Weber State, the first block of his career... Named co-Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 13 after intercepting two passes against Idaho State in the Bears’ lone win... In the spring, changed jersey numbers to 4 from 11.
2007: Played in all 12 games as a true freshman, tying for the team lead with three interceptions for 93 yards... Also notched 35 tackles for the season with three tackles for loss... Had a season-best seven tackles at Montana and the best interception return of his career for 73 yards against the Grizzlies... His interception return was the sixth-longest return in school history (now seventh)... Named to the Big Sky All-Academic Team.
High School: Played both football and baseball for the Wolves... Two-time First-Team All-Centennial League selection and was honorable mention his sophomore season... Holds the school record for career interceptions... Team captain... Played in the state playoffs his final two years, making the final four in 2005... Was the 2006 strength and speed champion at Grandview and earned the Grandview Warrior Award.
Personal: Born Aug. 30, 1989 in Denver... Is the oldest of two boys of Nancy and John Hewitt, with a younger brother William... Is majoring in accounting.
