2013: Played in all 12 games while starting four… Caught two passes for 16 yards, coming against Southern Utah on Sept. 28 and against Montana State on Nov. 2... His longest pass caught was 11 yards vs. SUU… Made one solo tackle in the season-opening win against Langston.
2012: Played both tight end and fullback for the Bears... Played in seven and started in the final six games of the year... Caught five passes for 33 yards and one touchdown and carried the ball twice for 10 more yards... Also played on several special teams, resulting in three kickoff returns for seven yards... Caught a 23-yard touchdown pass in the season finale against North Dakota to lift the Bears to the 28-27 victory.
2011: Moved from defensive line to tight end during spring drills and with it came a change of jersey from 98 to 88... Did not play in a game during the fall.
2010: Redshirted.
High School: Earned three letters in football… Was an all-conference selection as well as team captain… In 2008 had 86 tackles and four sacks… In 2009 season had five sacks… Led his team to the state playoffs in 2008-2009… Was on the academic honor roll for four years… Also participated in basketball and track and field as a Cougar.
Personal: Is the third of four children of Edward and Sherry Monson with older siblings Katie and Skye and a younger brother, Beck... Born May 6 in Ogden, Utah... Major in public relations and advertising... Calls Eden, Utah home, but attended Cherokee Trail HS in Aurora, Colo.
