2016: Onic II was named a STATS Preseason Team All-American and backed that prediction up with a strong performance in 2016. Playing all eleven games for the Bears, Onic II recorded 234 yards receiving and 1 touchdown. His best performance came against Eastern Washington where he had 4 catches for 37 yards. On special teams, Onic II added 111 kick return yards and 28 punt return yards.
2015: Onic II was named a College Sports Madness first team All-American, but he also cracked the STATS FCS Second Team All-America list as well, not to mention a first team All-Big Sky nod... Was also bestowed as the CFPA Punt Returner of the Year Award for his efforts on special teams during the 2015 season... Onic II had an outstanding year on punt return. He led the Big Sky and the entire FCS in punt return TDs with two on the season, and totaled 245 yards on just 10 returns (24.5 yards per return) which also ranked him first in the conference for the regular season... His 245 yards are the second most all-time in program's D1 history for a season... The returner helped UNC to a no.1 ranking in punt return in the nation for several weeks throughout the season, the first time the program has ever been ranked nationally since joining the Division I ranks for punt return... His two return TDs came from 71 yards out against Houston Baptist and 75 yards out against then, #7 Eastern Washington... Combined, Onic II racked up 587 all-purpose yards this season, which was the second most on the team. He ended 2015 with 152 receiving yards, 245 punt return yards and 177 kick return yards... For his career, Onic II now has 311 yards on punt returns, ranking him second all-time in D1 program history behind Dominic Gunn, who accumulated 749 yards during his tenure with the Bears.
2014: Played in all 11 games for UNC during his redshirt freshman campaign... Became main kick and punt returner...recorded 832 return yards on the season off 31 returns, averaging 26.84 yards which ranked him 3rd overall in the Big Sky... Scored a 100 yard TD return at home against Sacramento State on Oct. 11... Also accumulated 66 punt return yards off 11 returns... Longest punt return of 24 yards came against win over #25 Northern Arizona on Oct. 4... Broke all freshman return yardage records.
2013: Redshirted.
High School: Helped Skyline to a 12-2 overall record and a 7-0 mark in league action as senior... Played running back, wide receiver and kick returner... Also played baseball, mainly as an outfielder and was a sprinter on the track & field team... Averaged 10.1 yards per rush and 15.9 yards per reception as a senior... Earned three letters in football, four in baseball and one in track... Named to the All-District Second Team and an All-State honorable mention as a senior... On the honor roll all four years... Won four district championships, four bi-district championships, 3 area and regional championships and played in two quarterfinals and one semifinals in his career.
Personal: Born Nov. 10 in Dallas to Ellis and Glenda Onic... Has a younger brother, Emory and a younger sister, Kennedy... His cousin is Terrell Brown, a DB for the San Francisco 49ers... Majoring in sport & exercise science.
