Bears Travel to Albuquerque and Boulder

GREELEY, Colo. – The Northern Colorado track & field program continues indoor season with a pair of meets this weekend, traveling to the New Mexico Team Open in Albuquerque and the CU Invitational in Boulder. Both competitions run all day Friday and Saturday.
NEW MEXICO TEAM OPEN
The New Mexico Team Open, hosted by the University of New Mexico, will feature teams from the SEC, Mountain West, and Big 12. UNC will be the sole representative from the Big Sky Conference. The meet will be livestreamed on FloTrack for fans that are unable to attend, and live results will be provided by RT Timing.
The meet starts on Friday, Jan. 31, with the men's unseeded 200-meters at 3 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 1, field events begin at 10 a.m. with the women's shot put and pole vault, followed by the men's 60m hurdles at 10:30 a.m. The projected finish time is around 3:20 p.m.

Junior Jerome Campbell earned Big Sky Track Athlete of the Week after his dominate performance at the Ted Nelson Invite, running the 60m hurdles in 7.60. This time places him first in the Big Sky, sixth in the NCAA, 12th in the world, and first in Jamaica. Freshman Zander Cruzan won the 400m race with 46.73 at the same meet, shattering the UNC All-Time record, which he set previously in December. Sophomore Marely Del Campo finished fourth in the 200m dash at the UCCS Invite with a time of 26.49.
UP NEXT
The Bears will take a two week break before traveling to the Wisconsin Windy City Invite, hosted by Wisconsin. The two-day meet will take place Feb. 14-15 in Madison, Wis.
