PREVIEW: Northern Colorado Heads to Pocatello for 2026 Big Sky Indoor Championships

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado heads to Pocatello this week for the 2026 Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships, set for Thursday through Saturday at the ICCU Dome. Events begin Thursday morning and wrap up Saturday afternoon following the final relays and awards ceremony.
The championship opens Thursday with the women's pentathlon at 10 a.m., featuring the 60-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump and 800 meter. Friday shifts focus to combined events and preliminary rounds on the track, with finals dominating Saturday's schedule, including the 4x400-meter relays closing out the meet.
On the men's side, Daniel Beckford will be a key contributor, competing in the 60 meters, 60-meter hurdles and running the seventh leg of the 4x400-meter relay. Moise Benett and Ryan Pollyea will represent the Bears in the heptathlon, while Benett will also line up in the 60-meter hurdles.
Northern Colorado's sprint group will be well represented. Christopher Cheatham and Raphael Egbuchilem are entered in both the 200 and 400 meters and will run legs on the 4x400 relay. Nick Ellis will compete in the 400 meters and serve as the sixth leg of the relay, while Johnny Fisher (60m) and Edgar Garcia (60m, 200m) add depth across the short sprints. Garcia and Mark Miller are also scheduled to run relay legs, with Miller doubling in the 60 and 200 meters.
In the field events, Kaliff Guevara will compete in the triple jump, and Tyler Rogers is set for both the high jump and long jump. Jaydon Sundbye rounds out the men's entries in the 60-meter hurdles.
For the women, the hurdles group will be a focal point as Alexia Austin, Donice Bruno-Ezealah and Sherika Thomas compete in the 60-meter hurdles. Bruno-Ezealah will also run the second leg of the 4x400 relay.
Caydence Brewer leads a versatile sprint and middle-distance group, entered in the 60 meters and 200 meters, while also running the opening leg of the 4x400 and the second leg of the distance medley relay. Monique Stewart will contest the 800 meters and contribute to both the 4x400 (leg three) and DMR (leg three). Alison Hoodak anchors the 4x400 relay.
In distance events, Claire Nowels is entered in the 3000 meters and will compete in the DMR, while Lucy Varela will race in the mile and run the opening leg of the DMR.
In the field, Camaria Corder will compete in both the long jump and triple jump, April Necaise enters the high jump, and Kiana Van Haaren will test herself in the 60 meters and long jump.
With preliminary heats set for Friday and championship finals scheduled throughout the day Saturday, including the 60-meter hurdles, 60 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, mile, 3000 meters and 4x400 relays, the Bears will look to carry momentum into the final day and make their mark at the conference championship.
