OMAHA, Neb. – Erin Caviness tossed a complete-game shutout and Northern Colorado defeated Kansas City 2-0 at the Omaha Tournament.
For seven innings, Caviness allowed just one hit and fanned five batters.
Alison Steinker delivered an RBI single in the bottom of the first inning to put the Bears up 1-0.
Ella Gonzales added an RBI double to left-center field in the fifth inning.
As a team, UNC produced seven hits.
Gonzales batted 2-for-3 with an RBI and Steinker went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Amailee Morales batted 1-for-2 and drew a walk, while Jaycie Gandert and Sabrina Javorsky each finished 1-for-3. Nya Chacon batted 1-for-2.
UNC completes the Omaha Tournament with a doubleheader on Monday versus Rider and Omaha.
