David Kinnoin Promoted To Assistant Coach

GREELEY, Colo. – After two seasons as the Director of Player Development and Video Analyst on the Northern Colorado softball staff David Kinnoin has been promoted to be an assistant coach, head softball coach Dedeann Pendleton-Helm announced on Monday.
Kinnoin has been part of the University of Northern Colorado Softball Coaching Staff for the past two years. Coach Kinnoin started as the Director of Player Development and Video Analyst. He worked closely with the Staff at UNC in aspects regarding Infield, Hitting, Practice Planning, Recruiting, and Scouting.
"I am honored to join the University of Northern Colorado softball program and grateful for the opportunity to continue my coaching career," Kinnoin said. "I look forward to building on the program's strong tradition and helping out student-athletes achieve success both on the field and in the classroom."
Prior to UNC Kinnoin was an assistant coach at Maine during the 2023-24 season. There he was an Infield Coach/3rd Base Coach. His Infield committed 32 errors in the 2024 Season compared to 2023 Season when they committed 53 errors. He also planned all itineraries, including hotels/food/rentals, etc. for road trips and home games throughout the season.Â
Before getting into college coaching Kinnoin was at the high school level. From 2016-23 he coached at Paradise Honors in Arizona, serving as the head coach from 2020-23. As the Head Coach his career record was 72-8. They won two Region Titles and competed in the State Semi-Finals in 2021 and 2022. In 2022 Kinnoin was named West Valley Coach of the Year.
Kinnoin started his Softball Coaching Career in Arizona where he became the Head Coach of the AZ Sidewinders Fastpitch Club. As the Head Coach he won 571 games in his 12-year stint.
On the field Kinnoin played baseball at the Collegiate Level at the University of Jamestown. After his time was up at the University of Jamestown, he played five years for the Tempe Tigers and Arizona Cardinals. During his later playing career, he finished up the Diablo Rojos where he spent two years.

Dave brings a deep wealth of knowledge, especially in defense and hitting, but what truly sets him apart is the genuine love and care he shows for every single person in our program. He sees potential in our players before they see it in themselves, and he works relentlessly to help them grow not just as athletes, but as people.
Beyond his technical expertise, Dave is simply an amazing human being. His integrity, humility, and unwavering positivity make him a cornerstone of our culture. We are so incredibly happy to keep him in our Bear family, and we can't wait to see all the great things he'll continue to accomplish alongside us."
