Northern Colorado Rolled Past Rider 12-2 at Omaha Tournament

OMAHA, Neb. – Northern Colorado routed Rider 12-2 on the final day of the Omaha Tournament from the campus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha on Monday afternoon.
The Bears' offense opened the floodgates.
In the Bears part of the second inning, Abby Gaona's RBI and Amailee Morales' three RBI double put the Bears up 4-0. Fast forward to the fourth frame, Emma Harrington delivered a two-run home run and UNC led 6-0.
UNC's offense added two runs in the fourth inning. Ella Gonzales came up with a huge RBI and Alison Steinker singled to push across two runs, and the Bears led 9-0.
Rider added two runs in the fourth inning, but UNC responded in the top of the fifth.
Amailee Morales drilled a two-run home run to extend the lead.
Morales finished 2-for-4 with five RBI, while Harrington and Steinker each finished 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Kate Rehberg earned the win in the circle. The Omaha native tossed three innings scattered two hits and fanned four. Isabelle DiNapoli tossed the remaining two innings and allowed just one hit.
Omaha defeated UNC 8-0 in the second game of the day.
The Bears begin the Big Red Spring Classic on Tuesday. UNC plays Nebraska at 11 a.m. and Maine at 1:30 p.m.
