Assistant Coach Harold Simmons Accepts Head Coaching Job At Idaho State

GREELEY – Northern Colorado assistant coach Harold Simmons has been announced as the new head coach at Idaho State, the Bengals announced Thursday.
Simmons was the longest tenured coach on the softball staff, spending seven seasons at UNC beginning in 2020. He was a part of four 20-plus win seasons for the Bears, including the third most wins in a single season in program history with 27 and Big Sky Regular Season and Tournament Champions in 2024.
During his time at Northern Colorado Simmons was on staff for two different head coaches between Ben Garcia from 2020-22 and current head coach Dedeann Pendleton-Helm since 2023.
Prior to coming to UNC, Simmons was the head baseball coach at Erie High School in Colorado with his final five seasons also spent in the softball dugout.
