WICHITA, Kan. – Finishing out the weekend in Kansas, the Northern Colorado softball team lost to South Dakota State, 11-2, and No. 23 Wichita State, 10-2, on Sunday afternoon.
UNC's Alyssa Wenzel hit her first home run of the season in the first game of the day against the Jackrabbits. Her two-run shot went over the right-field wall to score Lauren Strathearn in the bottom of the third inning.
In the nightcap, an error by the Shockers allowed Strathearn to reach with the bases loaded, which allowed Abby Gaona to score for the Bears lone run of the game.

The Bears take a weekend off, but then begin Big Sky Conference action on March 31 at Sacramento State.
