Plogger’s Key Hits Lift Bears Past Griz

Northern Colorado picked up the series win over Montana
MISSOULA, Mont. - Graduate Riley Plogger came up with a pair of clutch at bats to help Northern Colorado earn the 6-4 win over Montana Saturday. The Bears picked up the series victory also.
Plogger's first key hit came in the fourth when she singled to center scoring Jaycie Gandert. The hit put UNC up for good at 3-2.
Up again one inning later she had another runs scoring single. This one to right. Again scoring Gandert and Carson Fischer. That pushed the lead to 6-2.
Plogger ended up 2-for-5 from the lead off spot with three RBIs.
Northern Colorado jumped out to an early 2-0 lead with a pair of unearned runs in the first inning.
Montana tied it with a two-RBI double in the second. They cut the lead to one in the seventh and had the game-tying run at the plate, but Isabelle DiNapoli closed the door for her second save of the season.
Meghan Golden picked up the win with six innings of work striking out six.
What's Ahead
Northern Colorado concludes the regular season by hosting Idaho State at Gloria Rodriguez Field on Thursday and Friday.
