Softball Eyes a Comeback in Texas

GREELEY, Colo.- UNC Softball will travel to Houston, Texas to compete in their third road tournament of the season hosted by the University of Houston. The tournament will take place Friday through Sunday, as the Bears look to stage a comeback after going 2-8 on the road in their last two trips.

UNC will look to use the momentum they gained in their last game against New Mexico State, where they were able to pull out a 6-5 victory over the Aggies, as they head into the weekend. The win was made possible thanks to a grand slam from Kaileigh Holland in the top of the sixth inning that cemented the game in the Bears' favor.

While in the Lone Star State, Northern Colorado faces a full weekend of four games, starting things off against the host team at 2:30 pm on Friday. They will then compete in two games on Saturday, facing Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 8 am, followed by Lamar at 10:30 am. UNC will then finish the weekend off with an 8 am game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Sunday.

The Houston Tournament will be UNC's final road trip before returning to Greeley and Gloria Rodriguez Field for their home opener against Utah Valley on March 4.
