UNC Softball Opens the 2022 Season This Weekend in Phoenix

Northern Colorado opens the 2022 season at the GCU Kickoff Classic
GREELEY, Colo.- Northern Colorado softball looks to start their season off strong as they travel to Phoenix, Arizona to face Kansas, Grand Canyon, Bradley, and Fordham throughout the weekend at the GCU Kickoff Classic.

The Bears finished their 2021 season with an overall record of 12-27 and a Big Sky Conference record of 8-10, making it to the Big Sky Tournament. UNC returns a pair of All-Big Sky selections in Erin Cavaniss and Alyssa Wenzel. They now aim to begin 2022 with some wins from Arizona.

UNC will play a total of five games Friday through Sunday in their first road trip of the year.
On Friday, first pitch against Kansas will take place at 10:30 am MT and 6 pm MT against the host Grand Canyon. The Bears will also take on Bradley in a doubleheader on Saturday at 8 am and 1 pm MT. They will then round out the weekend against Fordham at 9 am MT Sunday morning.

This will be the first of three road trips that the team will embark on before they return to Greeley for their home opener in March.
