Shorthanded softball team concludes weekend at Weber State

UNC concluded its three-game series at Weber State with a 10-1 loss
OGDEN, Utah – A shorthanded Northern Colorado softball team concluded its weekend series at Weber State on Saturday falling to the Wildcats 10-1.
After WSU took the 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, UNC tied the game in the second.
Senior catcher Emma Brockmann worked a walk to lead off the inning and Brooke Ballard pinch ran for her. Ballard ended up on third after a pair of passed balls by WSU. Second baseman Natalie Joyner brought her home reaching on a fielder's choice.
It was all Weber State after that with a four-run second and fourth sandwiching a one-run third.
Mady Young extended her hit streak to six games with the team's only hit. The Bears showed good plate discipline with four batters earning a walk. Leadoff hitter Lauren Strathern had a pair of them.
What's Ahead
Northern Colorado is off next week but will have a busy final week of April. It starts with a doubleheader at Colorado State on April 27 and then concludes with the final home series of the year against Southern Utah on Friday, April 30 and Saturday, May 1.
