Scouting the Wildcats
Weber State proved just how tough an opponent they are a week ago when it took a four-goal effort from UNC to get past the Wildcats. Morgan Furmaniak stamped herself on the scoresheet along with substitutes Lauren McConnell and Alexis Simpson.
Furmaniak, who was awarded the Big Sky Newcomer of the Year Award was one of six Wildcats picking up recognition on the All-Conference teams. Sadie Newsome (First Team), Taylor Slack (Second Team), Olivia Tucker (Second Team), Hailey Price (Honorable Mention) and Mekell Moss (Honorable Mention) were also listed.
In its quarterfinal matchup with Idaho, Weber State was downright dominant over the Vandals. WSU goalkeeper Kaytlin Bradley never saw a shot on goal in 90 minutes with her defense flexing its muscles in front of her. Meanwhile, Lily Webster and the offense piled up 25 shots, eight of them on goal, in the 3-0 victory to move the Wildcats into the semifinals.
