Maddie Mori Earns Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week Honors

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado freshman Maddie Mori was named the Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week after a breakout performance in the Bears' 2-1 win over CSU.
Mori scored the first two goals of her collegiate career, including the game-winner in the 82nd minute, to account for both Bears goals and help UNC secure its first win of the season.
"Exciting for Maddie to be named Big Sky Player of the Week," head coach Tim Barrera said. "Great effort against a real good Pac-12 team. We're excited to see where Maddie goes from here. Certainly, also excited that both goals were assists from senior Lexi Tuite. Good things to come."
With the honor, Mori becomes the first UNC player to earn Big Sky Player of the Week honors since Kaya Lindberg on Oct. 25, 2025. Mori also becomes the first Bear to be named Big Sky Offensive Player of the Week since current teammate Lexi Tuite earned the recognition in 2023. Tuite was also the last UNC freshman to earn Player of the Week honors.
Mori's late winner capped a memorable match and a milestone performance for the Bears freshman.
