@bearssoftball Sweeps Nevada in Mexico

PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico – The Northern Colorado softball team finished up their trip to Mexico today taking on Nevada for the second time in two days. The Bears would hold strong against the Wolfpack, earning the series sweep and winning the game 6-4.
Nevada applied some pressure early driving in four runs in the first two innings of play.
UNC answered back with three runs of their own with Erica Dick kicking things off with a sacrifice RBI scoring Kaitlin Flynn.
The Bears tied the game up at four runs a piece in the bottom of the third inning, with a sacrifice fly by Jenna Jordan scoring Molly Ryan.
Jayme Reddacliff picked it up on the pitching side of things for the Bears, conveying five fantastic innings, permitting only two hits in those five innings.
In the bottom of the fifth, UNC grabbed the lead and wouldn't look back.
Rachel Johnson started the inning off with a base hit, advancing to second on a fielding error.
The Bears would pinch run Adeline Coldiron for Johnson, and Coldiron quickly moved to third off a Jordan ground out.
Flynn worked the count for a walk putting runners on first and third.
The heavy hitter Ryan came through in the clutch roping a single up the middle scoring Coldiron on the play and advancing Flynn to second.
Next to the plate for UNC was senior Nicole Hudson who singled to left field scoring Flynn, giving the Bears the 6-4 lead.
Pitching did their job the rest of the way, giving UNC the victory, and improving to 5-5-1 on the season.
The Bears will take some time off before they hit the field again for their home opener on March 10 against Colorado State.
UNC will take on the in-state rival with the single game starting at 4:00 p.m.
