UNC faces Idaho State, Weber State for second week of 2015 Big Sky schedule
GREELEY - UNC Women's Soccer looks to add two more wins to their season this weekend when they face-off against the Idaho State Bengals [Friday, Oct. 2 at 7:00PM MT] and the Weber State Wildcats [Sunday, Oct. 4 at 1:00PM MT].
The Bears kicked off their Big Sky Conference schedule last Sunday with a 3-2 win over defending regular season conference champions, the Montana Grizzlies. Offensively, the Bears had 14 shots, nine on goal, compared to Montana's six shots with three on goal. They'll continue conference play this weekend at home, then go on the road for two weeks for a four-game stretch before returning to Greeley later in October.
This will be the 11th time the Bears have played the Idaho State Bengals since 2005, a year before joining the Big Sky Conference, with a series that stands at 5-4-1. The last time the two met in Greeley was in 2013, resulting in a 2-0 shut out for the Bears. UNC also won in 2014 in Pocatello, Idaho, 2-1.
Northern Colorado also played the Weber State Wildcats for the first time in 2005, starting off the series that is now 3-5-3. The Bears defeated the Wildcats in Ogden last season, 3-1, and tied the two games prior to that.
The last time UNC opened up Conference play at home with a three-game stint and defeated their first opponent, the team went on to defeat the next two opponents at home (2012).
Next weekend, Northern Colorado travels to Flagstaff, Arizona for a Friday night game against Northern Arizona [8:00PM MT], and then to Ogden, Utah for a Sunday afternoon game against Southern Utah [12:00PM MT].
