2018
- Started all 11 games at tight end.
- Finished third on the team with 25 receptions and 287 yards.
- Tied teammate Alex Wesley for most receiving touchdowns with 4.
- Became first tight end in UNC's DI history to go over 1,000 yards receiving.
- Caught a touchdown in three straight games from September 8-22.

2017
- Verna became a top target for UNC's quarterbacks leading all tight ends with 20 receptions for 366 yards and four touchdowns.
- His best game of the year came against Idaho State when he covered 165 yards on four receptions and scored a touchdown.
- His longest catch of the year came on an 80-yard bomb from quarterback Jacob Knipp at North Dakota that had him ending in the endzone.
2016
- Played in 10 of the 11 games his sophomore season.
- Hauled in four touchdowns and 194 receiving yards.
- Recorded one touchdown in the Bears' last four games of the season.

High School: Named to the Southwestern All-Conference team as a senior. Team captain. Played tight end, defensive end and outside linebacker for the Tigers. Was a four-time Academic All-State honoree. Recorded 530 yards receiving and 220 yards rushing as a senior.
