Bears Fall in Series Finale to Idaho State

GREELEY, Colo. — Northern Colorado dropped the series finale to Idaho State, 5-0, on Saturday afternoon at Gloria Rodriguez Field.
Idaho State used a pair of early scoring innings to take control, plating two runs in the second before adding three more in the third on three home runs to build a 5-0 advantage.
The Bears were limited offensively, managing three hits in the contest. Katie Walling, Krista Francia and Baylie Kakallis each recorded a hit for Northern Colorado.
In the circle, Anna Wilming took the loss after allowing five runs over 2.2 innings. Grace Algrim provided strong relief, tossing 4.1 scoreless innings while allowing four hits.
Northern Colorado had opportunities late, putting runners on in the sixth and seventh innings, but was unable to break through as Idaho State secured the series.

Northern Colorado hits the road next weekend, continuing Big Sky Conference play with a three-game series at Portland State.
