Campbell Sets Meet Record in Arkansas

Jerome Campbell's 7.55 in the 60m hurdles ranks fifth in the NCAA and qualifies him for Worlds, while Regina Mpigachai resets the UNC record in the 800m
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Northern Colorado wrapped up the regular season with a strong showing at the Arkansas Qualifier, held at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
Jerome Campbell set a new meet record and ran a personal best in the 60m hurdles, finishing in 7.55 seconds. His time ranks 24th in the world and fifth in the NCAA. Campbell also broke his own UNC record of 7.58, which he set on March 10, 2023. With this performance, he qualified for the World Championships in Nanjing, China, March 21-23.
Regina Mpigachai set a UNC school record in the women's 800m, finishing in 2:05.50. Mpigachai has broken this record three times this season.
In the men's 800m, Nathan Plant recorded a personal best of 1:53.29, while Edgar Garcia posted a season-best 21.70 in the 200m.
Wendira Moss competed in the women's 200m, placing ninth with a time of 24.47.
COACHES' CORNER
Director of Track & Field Wayne Angel shared his thoughts on the team's performance:
"We accomplished a lot today—two school records and multiple personal bests. We are certainly ready to compete at a high-level next week at the Big Sky Championships."
