Bears Set to Open 2025 Season at Utah Tech

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado is gearing up to open the 2025 baseball season with a four-game series against Utah Tech in St. George, Utah, from February 14-16. The Bears will look to start strong as they aim to build on the momentum from their 2024 campaign.

Last season, Northern Colorado finished fifth in the Summit League, closing out the year by winning four of their final six games. With a mix of returning veterans and a talented group of newcomers, the team is poised to take another step forward in 2025.

Key Players to Watch

Kai Wagner, Infielder – One of the Bears' most dynamic offensive players, Wagner led the team in multiple categories last season, including RBI (41), batting average (.364), and home runs (9). The senior slugger is expected to be a crucial part of the lineup once again.
Jake Storey, Pitcher – Storey provided consistency on the mound in 2024, finishing with a 3-4 record, 44 strikeouts, and limiting opposing hitters to a .283 batting average. He will be a key figure in the Bears' pitching rotation this season.

Northern Colorado and Utah Tech will face off in the season opener on Friday, February 14, at 4:05 p.m. MT.

The Bears will travel to Albuquerque for a four-game series against the Lobos of New Mexico State Feb. 21-23. Opening pitch is set for Friday at 2 p.m. MT.
