Track & Field Set for Windy City Invite

The Bears will travel to Chicago to compete in the Windy City Invite, hosted by Wisconsin
GREELEY, Colo. – UNC track & field will hit the road to compete at the Wisconsin Windy City Invite in Chicago at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track & Field Center at Gately Park. The meet will run all day Friday and Saturday.
The competition field will include over 40 teams, including Indiana, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Tulane, and Wisconsin.
The Bears' schedule begins on Feb. 14 at 1 p.m. with the men's long jump kicking off the first field session of the meet. The first session of track events starts at 2 p.m. and includes the 5000m, 600m, 60m hurdles prelims, 400m, and 60m prelims. The championship section for field events begins at 4:30 p.m., followed by the track events championships at 5 p.m.
Saturday's schedule follows a similar format, with field events starting at 11 a.m. Track events will run concurrently, with the championship section set for 2:10 p.m.
BEARS IN THE RANKINGS
The Bears carry two top 50 national marks including a NCAA top 10 effort from junior Jerome Campbell in the 60m hurdles (7.60). Freshman Zander Cruzan stands 31st in the 400m with 46.68.

The track & field team had a standout performance at the New Mexico Team Open and CU Invitational, securing multiple top-10 finishes and breaking a school record. At the New Mexico Team Open, senior Regina Mpigachai dominated the 800m, setting a new school record with a Big Sky-leading time of 2:06.39, while junior Jerome Campbell advanced to the 60m hurdles finals.
At the CU Invitational, the Bears recorded numerous personal and season bests, with senior Nathan Plant and Isaac Rascon climbing the UNC All-Time list in their respective events. Senior Wendira Moss excelled in multiple sprints, while the field events saw impressive showings, including wins by junior Kiana Van Haaren in the women's long jump and sophomore Ryan Pollyea in the men's long jump.

The Bears will turn their attention to the Big Sky Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, which take place Feb. 27-28. The meet is hosted by Northern Arizona.
