PREVIEW: Women’s Cross Country Set for Louisville Classic

GREELEY, Colo. – The Northern Colorado Women's Cross Country team is scheduled to run at the Louisville Classic, hosted by the University of Louisville, in Louisville, Kentucky on Saturday.
Over 30 teams are scheduled to compete at the 24th annual meet, including Clemson, Tennessee Tech, Kentucky, and West Virginia. The course runs through the E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park, which is the site of the 2012, 2015 and 2017 NCAA DI National Championships; 2010 and 2014 NCAA DII National Championships, 2016, 2019 and 2021 NCAA DIII National Championships, five NAIA National Championships, two Big East Conference Championships and six NCAA DI Southeast Regional Championships.
LAST TIME OUT
The Northern Colorado women's cross country team turned in a standout showing at the Woody Greeno/Dirksen Invitational, placing sixth out of more than 30 programs. Senior Regina Mpigachai dominated the women's 5K to win the individual title in 17:08.94, while freshman Sabina Stroia (22nd) and junior Brooke Elfert (35th) added strong finishes. Senior Ania Magdesian and sophomore Jessica Wilson rounded out the scoring to help UNC edge Nebraska and Omaha for a top-six team result.
