Bears Set for Key Summit League Series

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado returns to Jackson Field after a midweek clash with Air Force Friday through Sunday.
The Bears conclude the first half of Summit League slate against North Dakota State. UNC trails Omaha by a half game for fourth in the league, while the Bison occupies second place – a half game back of St. Thomas. The top four teams at the conclusion of the season qualifies for the Summit League Championship.

The Bears dropped a 23-6 result at Air Force Tuesday, evening the season series at one-game apiece. The top of the Bears' offense delivered nine of their 12 hits and scored all six runs with five RBIs.
Zain Zinicola, Caden Wagner and Garret Fisher tallied two hits each. Brandon Sanchez, Kai Wagner, Jake Wright, Jackson Romero, Jackson Meier and Dalton Miller accounted for a knock each.
North Dakota State fell 11-3 to Minnesota on Tuesday night at Siebert Field. The Gophers (13-14, 2-4 Big Ten) scored six runs in the second inning on five hits to grab a 7-0 lead.
SERIES HISTORY
UNC trails 14-27 in the all-time series, including 10 losses in succession.
SUMMIT LEAGUE
St. Thomas (5-3) still holds onto the top spot in the Summit League, despite dropping two of three games to Omaha (6-6) last week. Omaha moved into the fourth position with the series win over the Tommies. North Dakota State (5-4) won the middle game of its series against South Dakota State but hold just a one-game lead over the Jackrabbits (6-5) after losing the opener and finale. Northern Colorado (5-6-1) went 0-2-1 against Oral Roberts (4-7-1), playing to a draw due to time constraints in the finale, after falling in the first two games of the series. The Bears fell to fifth place, a half-game behind Omaha, while the Golden Eagles remain in the basement, one game behind UNC. The top four teams qualify for the Summit League Championship in May.
