UNC Entertains Portland State For Regular Season Finale

GREELEY, Colo -- The Northern Colorado softball team hosts Portland State to conclude the 2023 regular season this weekend, April 28-29. Friday's doubleheader is set to begin at 3 p.m. (MT) and will serve as the Bears' Pride Day. Saturday's game is set to begin at 1 p.m. and the team will recognize it's three seniors: Carson Fischer, Lainey Hanehan, and Paola Villegas.
The games will be live streamed on ESPN+ with live stats available through UNCBears.com.
Northern Colorado and Portland State enter the weekend tied for second place in the Big Sky, with both teams holding a 6-6 record in conference play. UNC enters with an overall record of 18-20, while the Vikings have a 15-22 overall record.
UNC's leadoff hitter Lauren Strathearn currently sits second in the Big Sky with a .367 batting average. Alyssa Wenzel sits third in the conference with a .352 average.
Amailee Morales enters the weekend with an on-base percentage of .426, which ranks fourth in the Big Sky.
Pitcher Erin Caviness continues to lead the Big Sky in strikeouts with 113 to her name. Isabelle DiNapoli is third in the conference for strikeouts with 67. Caviness also ranks second in the Big Sky for opposing batting average (.251), and fourth in ERA (3.21).
