Track and Field Ready for West Regionals

UNC Track and Field sends four to the NCAA West Regionals
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Northern Colorado Track and Field starts the NCAA West Regionals Wednesday evening. The Bears qualified four athletes for the regionals in Jerome Campbell (110h), Qwazon Al-Khaliq (Triple Jump), Welre Olivier (Triple Jump) and Tyler Thimsen (Triple Jump).
Campbell will get things started for the Bears on Wednesday when he runs in the first round of the 110 hurdles. The school record holder for the event with a time of 13.76 enters with the 20th best time in the west. The 110 hurdles are scheduled to be run at 5:00 pm MT.
UNC's trio of triple jumpers rank fifth, 14th, and 34th in the region entering Friday's competition. Al-Khaliq leads the way with his school record mark of 16.30m. Olivier won his second straight Big Sky Outdoor Championship two weeks ago with his leap of 15.92m in Pocatello. Meanwhile, Thimsen enters his second straight regional thanks to his best jump of year at 15.41m.
The men's triple jump starts at 5:00 pm MT on Friday, May 27.
