Softball to Host Hornets at Gloria Rodriguez Field

GREELEY, Colo.- UNC Softball returns to Gloria Rodriguez Field for the first time in 42 days when they host Sacramento State for a three-game, Big Sky series.

The Bears have not had a home field advantage since the beginning of March, but that has not stopped them from claiming victories over multiple competitors.

Most recently, the team was able to claim one of those victories over Portland State on the road. In the first of a three-game series, UNC pulled out a 6-3 win.

This was much thanks to Alison Steinker who went 5-7 from the plate, had a home run, two runs scored, and two RBIs on the day. Meghan Golden also pitched another complete game in the victory, making her 11^th of the year.

The Bears enter the weekend tied for second place with Sacramento State at 4-2. The Hornets provide a tough test entering the weekend as the top hitting team in the Big Sky batting .295 on the year.

UNC continues its seven-game homestand by taking on Colorado State on Tuesday, April 19 at 4 pm.
