Softball Heads to California for the Weekend

GREELEY, Colo.- Northern Colorado Softball hits the road for a non-conference road trip to California. The Bears will face Pacific for three games and close out the weekend against Saint Mary's

UNC hopes to pick up right where they left off over the past weekend where they swept their first Big Sky series of the season against Southern Utah.

The last time they competed, the Bears pulled off two dominate run rule wins over the Thunderbirds that were defined by scoring. Carson Fischer hit the lone home run of the series for the team and was one of ten different players who scored runs to kick off the series. They also held the Thunderbirds to just two points in the double header thanks to pitchers Meghan Golden and Erin Caviness.

In the final game of the series, the Bears kept fans on the edges of their seats in a 4-3 defensive battle won largely in part to a career performance by pitcher Isabelle DiNapoli, clocking 13 strikeouts on the day, that secured the series sweep at the bottom of the seventh inning.
