Softball continues non-conference season in Texas

Beaumont, TX- Northern Colorado heads to Texas for the Cardinal Classic being held by Lamar University. UNC will have a series of three games against Saint John's and two games against Lamar Friday through Sunday.

About the Bears
The Bears enter the weekend 2-8 after going 1-4 at the Susan Craig Classic last week. The win game against UCSB in extra innings 5-4.

Last week Emma Brockmann and Reyna Caudillo led the Bears at the plate. Brockman hit .438 with two runs scored and seven RBIs. She leads the team on the year with 11 RBIs.

Caudillo was 6-for-12 on the weekend for a .500 batting average and drove in four runs.

About Lamar
Host Lamar enters the weekend at 4-6 on the year. The Cardinals defeated Maryland during the first weekend of the year

Jade Lewis is back for her senior year, leading the team with a .375 batting average.

Saint Johns
Saint Johns is 2-8 overall after the two tournaments this season.

Kaitlin Mattera is back for her senior year, leading the team in batting average at .321 and in a tie for runs batted in with four.

Feb. 21- UNC vs Saint Johns, 11 a.m.
Feb. 21- UNC vs Lamar, 1:30 p.m.
Feb. 22- UNC vs Lamar, 11:30 a.m.
Feb. 22- UNC vs Saint Johns, 4:30 p.m.
Feb 23- UNC vs Saint Johns, 9 a.m.

What's Ahead
Northern Colorado is returning back to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the Logo Classic. The Bears will have games against New Mexico, South Dakota, and La Salle from February 28-March 1.
