Columbia, MO.- The Bears and the Tigers went head-to-head in today's match, and through 96 minutes of play time the Tigers eventually pulled ahead by one with a sudden-death goal for the win.
Through all minutes played today, the Bears and the Tigers hashed it out with 22 total fouls between both teams, and one yellow card for each team. The Bears had seven shots throughout the game, with Taylor Bray having four of them. Â
As for Ashley Franza back at goal for the Bears, she had four saves overall with 12 total shots fired at her by the Tigers.
While the pressure was there, on both sides, the Bears just fell short in the first period of overtime. And, while it wasn't the ending the Bears were hoping for, the hats go off to Avery Smith for her goal, assisted by Olivia Seddon, in the 40th minute to keep the Bears in the game until the end.

What Tim Said
"I am proud of the effort from all the players today. We certainly had chances to win it, but overall, I am proud of the effort and all the strives we have made as a team. It's never fun to lose, but we have and will grow from it."
Â
What's Next
The Bears take on The University of Northern Colorado this Wednesday September 19, at 4pm MT.
Barerra says, "CU is a good team, so it will be a challenge. However, we've got four days to get some players healthy, so we're up for it."
