Bears unable to take Game 3 from GCU

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Fresh off a heartbreaking extra inning loss on Saturday night, UNC was right back at it on Sunday looking to salvage a game against Grand Canyon. The Lopes weren't having any late-night hangovers as they scored 11 runs in the first two innings on the way to a 13-2 win in seven.
The Bears scored a run in the second when Matt Burkart brought home Sam Leach on a sacrifice fly.
They added another run in the when Jake Gitter doubled to again score Leach.
BREAKING OUT OF THE BOX SCORE
- Gitter had three hits and a double.
- Leach had a pair of knocks and scored both UNC runs.
- Jack Pauley had two hits.
SCHEDULE SAYS
UNC will close out the regular season starting Thursday against Seattle at 2 p.m.
