UNC women's basketball opens a three-game homestand by hosting Montana State on Monday
After going 3-0 on their three-game road trip and improving to 5-0 in Big Sky Conference play, Northern Colorado women's basketball returns home on Monday night. The Bears look to stay undefeated in the conference when Montana State visits Bank of Colorado Arena at 7 pm to start a three-game homestand.
Opening Tip
• Northern Colorado finished its three-game road trip with a 73-62 win over Montana
• Savannah Smith led the team with 31 points. It was her second 30-plus point game of the year and fourth of her career.
• UNC recordd a season-high 14 steals at Montana.

Northern Colorado extended its win streak to five games by never trailing at Montana on Saturday in a 73-62 victory. Savannah Smith scored 15 of her game-high 31 points in the first quarter and Alexis Chapman and Abby Kain added in 17 and 11 points, respectively.
Scouting the Bobcats
Montana State looks to right the ship after dropping two of its last three games moving them into the middle of the pack at 3-2 early in the Big Sky season. MSU overall is 8-7.
The trio of Claire Lundberg, Oliana Squires and Martha Kuderer lead the team in scoring all averaging double figures. Lundberg leads the way with 18.3 ppg including shooting an impressive 41.9 percent from behind the arc. Squires and Kuderer are averaging 11.2 and 10.1 points per game, respectively.
The Bobcats are working on picking up their defense as they allow teams to shoot 41.9 percent against them, while MSU is just shooting 39.7.
Coming into the 2018-19 season, Montana State was picked to finish sixth in the conference by the media and tied for fifth with rival Montana by the coaches.

Prior to Northern Colorado joining the Big Sky Conference, UNC and Montana State only played one time in 1980 with MSU winning in Greeley 88-71. The Bobcats won the first three games of the series, but it has been back and forth ever since.
