GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado women's basketball has added an experienced and versatile guard to its roster, as Mia Galbraith will join the Bears for the upcoming season.
MEET THE SIGNEE
MIA GALBRAITH | GUARD | TEXAS STATE | SUNSHINE COAST, AUSTRALIA
Galbraith brings a well-rounded skill set and collegiate experience to Greeley after spending the past two seasons at Texas State, along with time at Oklahoma State. During the 2025–26 campaign, she appeared in all 30 games while making 22 starts. She finished as the team's third-leading scorer.
Galbraith recorded five double-digit scoring performances, including a career-best 16 points at NIU in the MAC-SBC Challenge, and was highly efficient at the free throw line with the second-best percentage on the team.
"Mia is a versatile veteran guard who brings experience, skill, and leadership to our program. She has great court awareness and a tremendous feel for the game as a true three-level scorer. Mia can create out of her dribble, attack the rim with aggressiveness, and consistently knock down shots. She is a solid playmaker with great court vision as well as has a strong ability to rebound from the guard position. Her competitive spirit and drive to win will add tremendous depth to our back court. Mia plays the game with confidence and knows how to make winning plays which is exactly what we want representing our program. UNC fans are going to love watching her play in that Blue & Gold! We are so excited to welcome Mia to our Bear family" said Head Coach, Kristen Mattio.
Her 2024–25 season was cut short due to injury after appearing in two games. Prior to her time at Texas State, Galbraith played at Oklahoma State during the 2023–24 season, appearing in 14 games.
A 5-foot-11 guard originally from Sunshine Coast, Australia, Galbraith prepped at Lake Travis High School in Texas. She was a McDonald's All-American nominee, earned TGCA All-State honors and First-Team All-District recognition, and scored over 1,500 career points while pulling down more than 550 rebounds.
"I chose Northern Colorado for multiple reasons," said Galbraith. "It starts with Coach Mattio and her passion for helping her players succeed, which leads to wins for everyone. The campus and area are beautiful, and every coach is committed to pouring into their athletes on and off the floor."
