ERICKA HUGGINS | FORWARD | DELAWARE STATE | WILMINGTON, DE
Huggins made an immediate impact at Delaware State, earning All-MEAC Rookie Team honors during the 2024–25 season. She appeared in 25 games with 15 starts, averaging 6.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game while shooting 41.3 percent from the field. Her presence on the glass and ability to contribute across multiple areas quickly became key strengths.
"Ericka is a versatile forward who impacts the game in so many ways," said Head Coach Kristen Mattio. "She's tough, physical, and plays with an edge that shows up every possession. She finishes at a very high level at the rim, runs the floor extremely well, and can stretch to the perimeter with her mid-range and 3-point shot. On the defensive side, she protects the rim, rebounds at a high level, and can guard multiple positions. Ericka is the definition of a do-it-all forward. She fits exactly who we are with high character and academic excellence. Our Bear fans and the Greeley community are going to love watching her work on the court. We are thrilled to welcome her to Bear Country!"
She followed with a strong sophomore campaign in 2025–26, starting 23 of 28 games and improving her shooting efficiency to 46.5 percent from the field. Huggins averaged 6.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game, continuing to develop as a well-rounded and reliable contributor.
Over her two collegiate seasons, Huggins has played in 53 games with 38 starts, averaging 6.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while shooting 43.8 percent from the field and over 80 percent from the free-throw line.
A 6-foot forward from Wilmington, Delaware, Huggins brings experience, efficiency, and a strong winning background to Northern Colorado. A standout at St. Elizabeth High School, she scored over 1,000 career points and helped lead her team to a state championship.
"I chose UNC because it felt like the perfect fit for me both on and off the court. Basketball-wise, I know this program will push me to grow as a player, and the family-oriented culture really stood out to me from the start."
