Northern Colorado Baseball comes home to face Air Force before heading to Grand Canyon over the weekend
Northern Colorado baseball will look to keep the hot bats going this week when they face Air Force at home Tuesday and going to Arizona to face Grand Canyon over the weekend.Â

• Northern Colorado is coming off a weekend sweep of New Mexico State on the road. The sweep gave UNC the Bears more wins in the WAC this season than all of last season.Â
• Jensen Park earn WAC Hitter of the Week going 10-for-17 with eight runs scored, six RBI, three stolen bases, two doubles and a home run against NMSU last weekendÂ
• As a team UNC hit .384 against New Mexico State.Â
• Four Northern Colorado players hit over .500 against NMSU, Park, Bryan Tibbitts, Nick Tanner, and Marco Castilla
• Northern Colorado's bullpen was fantastic along with the offense against New Mexico State going 13 1/3 innings giving up two runs on eight hits with eight strike outs and five walks.

Scouting the Falcons
Air Force is coming off a three game sweep over the weekend vs San Jose State. The Falcons are currently on a four game win streak. At the plate the Falcons have seven players hitting above .300, led by Adam Groesbeck at .349 with four home runs and 17 RBI. As a team Air Force is hitting .286. On the mound, the Falcons will start Steven Trojan on Tuesday who comes in with a 4.08 ERA leading to a 2-2 record in 10 appearances including six starts. Opponents are hitting .231 against Trojan. As a staff, Air Force is posting a 4.50 ERA. Air Force defeated UNC last week in Colorado Springs 9-2.Â
Scouting the 'Lopes
Grand Canyon will enter the weekend a half game out of first place in the WAC with a 7-1 record. They are coming off a sweep of Texas Pan-American. GCU is the top hitting team in the WAC with a .286 batting average. The team has seven players hitting above .300. WAC preseason Player of the Year Chad De La Guerra is hitting .311 with six home runs and 27 RBI. The 'Lopes are also strong on the mound with eight pitchers holding ERAs below 5.00 and three in the sub 3.00 area.Â
Against the Mountain West
Northern Colorado is 217-183 overall against Mountain West teams. The record includes games against Colorado State and Wyoming who currently do not field Division I teams. This is the second Mountain West team UNC has played this year. They opened the season at San Jose State going 1-3, and currently 0-1 against Air Force.Â
Against the WAC
Northern Colorado is 82-115 overall against the WAC. Since joining the league last season, UNC is 10-26.Â
