Northern Colorado baseball looks to end its five game losing streak this weekend against New Mexico State
Northern Colorado baseball faces New Mexico State in their first WAC road trip of the year.Â

• Northern Colorado has struggled over the past week, currently in a five game losing streak.
• The Bears are coming off a mid-week game against Air Force, in which the Falcons won 9-2.
• Coming into the weekend UNC is in the middle of the WAC with an even 3-3 record through the first two conference series.Â
• Brandon Vaughn has led Northern Colorado so far at the plate hitting .347 with 23 RBI, 4 home runs, and 14 runs scored.
• The Bears are currently missing two of its senior leaders in Jensen Park and Ryan Yamane due to injury.
• All of Northern Colorado's wins against New Mexico State have come in Las Cruces.
• UNC has struggled at times with errors, committing 49 so far this season.
• Freshman Payton Tapia is leading the conference in doubles per game with 0.35, overall he has 6 in 18 games.

New Mexico State is coming into the weekend on a five game losing streak, including get swept last weekend by Sacramento State. Overall for the season NMSU is 4-21-1, including 1-4-1 in WAC play. The Aggies have been struggling offensively this season hitting .223 as a team and having only one player hitting above .300. On the mound NMSU is led by the trio of Matt Loeffler, Reiley Barr, and Matt Stein. Loeffler and Barr have each started six games this season combining to go 1-5 with 3.80 ERA. Stein has made a team leading 16 relief appearances going 19.0 innings with a 2.37 ERA.
Against the WAC
Northern Colorado is 79-115 overall against the WAC. Since joining the league last season, UNC is 7-26.Â
On Deck
The Bears will continue its four game mid-week series against Air Force on Tuesday in Greeley with first pitch at 3:00 p.m.
In the Hole
After coming home for the one game, Northern Colorado heads to Phoenix to take on Grand Canyon in a three game series over the weekend of April 10th.
