The Bears rolled in both games by the mercy rule scoring 30 runs in 10 innings while only giving up five runs in the two games. UNC took the first game 16-4 and the second game, 14-1 to improve to 2-3 in Big Sky play.
"I'm really proud of our performance today," said head coach Shana Easley. "We needed this shot in the arm to get us going again. Our team has tremendous potential to play at a high level consistently and we were able to demonstrate that today. Kelli and Jayme both pitched well getting complete games and minimizing walks which we have been focusing on. Our offense up and down the line up was energized and confident in our at-bats. I'm excited to build on what we've accomplished today for tomorrow's breast cancer awareness game."
In game one UNC got the bats rolling in the second inning putting up six runs.
Melissa Marcovecchio got things started with a RBI pop-up, scoring Nicole Hudson on the play.
Jaicy Sutak plated the second run off a wild pitch by ND.

The Bears ended the inning with singles by Morgan Yuhas and Molly Ryan with Mikayla Duffy, Johnson and Yuhas both scoring, giving the home team the early 6-1 lead.
