Kyle Emerick joined the Northern Colorado coaching staff in March of 2021, and is entering his second season with the team. In his short time with the Bears during the 2021 campaign, Emerick helped UNC to a win and a dramatic last-second tie against Northern Arizona and assisted the Bears in qualifying for its eighth consecutive Big Sky Conference Tournament. He also helped the Bears to win the Big Sky regular season title in 2021.
Emerick made his way to Greeley by way of Missouri. Hired as a volunteer assistant coach in 2018, Kyle was promoted to director of player analysis prior to the 2019 season. During his tenure with the Tigers, Emerick's teams scored a total of 70 goals. In 2020-21 Mizzou boasted an impressive 2.11 goals per games average which was ranked No. 2 overall in the SEC. He as also coaches several SEC All-Conference and All-Southeast Region players, including Julissa Cisneros and Sarah Luebbert, who is now playing professionally for the Chicago Red Stars of the NWSL.
Prior to Missouri, Kyle spent seven years as both a player and a coach at Montana State-Billings. During his three years as an assistant coach with the Men's Soccer team, the Yellowjackets had a combined record of 26-22-7 as Emerick helped take them to new hights. In 2015, the team posted a winning record for the first time since 2012 with one of the best offenses in teh GNAC (35 goals, 28 assists, 98 Points). A year later, MSU-Billings secured its second-best win total in program history and narrowly missed out on an NCAA Regional berth.
Emerick's ability to develop individual talent has been evident from day one. At MSU-Billings, Emerick coached two GNAC Newcomers of the year, five First Team All-GNAC selections and four Second Team All-GNAC honorees.
As a player, Emerick was the epitome of a team-player. Orchestrating the Yellowjacket offense from multiple positions throughout his career, Emerick tallied 10 goals, racked up 12 assists and totaled 32 points. In his final season in Billings, Kyle was All-GNAC Honorable Mention.
Emerick holds a USSF "C" license is a certified ISPAS Level II Performance Analyst. After graduation from MSU-Billings in 2016 with a Bachelors in Exercise Science, he completed his Master's of Science in Health Communications from MSU-Billings in 2017 and a Master's of Science in Positive Coaching and Athletic leadership from the University of Missouri in 2020.
