Six Bears Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

GREELEY, Colo. — Six members of the Northern Colorado soccer team have earned spots on the 2025 NCAA Division I Academic All-District Team, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Tuesday. Honorees include Taryn Rea, Esja Moore, Anneliese Wong, Lexi Tuite, Lauryn Maggio, and Sunnie Yarnell, each recognized for outstanding achievement both academically and athletically.
The CSC Academic All-District program highlights student-athletes who excel in the classroom and in competition. To qualify, nominees must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher while meeting performance and eligibility requirements.
This year's selections reflect Northern Colorado's continued emphasis on developing well-rounded student-athletes who balance the rigor of Division I athletics with strong academic performance.
Taryn Rea, a senior defender from Thornton, Colorado, anchored the Bears' defensive unit with consistent leadership. She earned Big Sky Defensive Player of the Week honors, secured Second Team All-Conference recognition, and maintained a 3.84 GPA in Communication Studies.
Esja Moore, a junior defender from Ventura, California, appeared in all 19 games, logging 594 minutes. She carried a 3.73 GPA while pursuing a degree in Nursing.
Anneliese Wong, a junior midfielder from Camarillo, California, started 18 of 19 matches and tallied one goal and one assist on the season. She posted a 3.79 GPA in Biological Sciences.
Lexi Tuite, a junior forward from Celina, Texas, led the team with six goals—including two game-winners—and started 18 of 19 games. She excelled academically with a 3.94 GPA in Business Administration.
Lauryn Maggio, a sophomore defender from Parker, Colorado, started 18 of 19 contests, logging 1,227 minutes. She maintained a 3.88 GPA in Business Administration.
Sunnie Yarnell, a sophomore forward from Greeley, Colorado, also started 18 games, scoring two goals and playing 1,167 minutes. She recorded a 3.84 GPA in Psychology.
All six honorees surpassed the CSC's rigorous academic benchmark, each holding a GPA above 3.50. Their achievements highlight Northern Colorado's commitment to supporting excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
