2012 All-Western Wrestling Conference Second Team: March 14, 2012
2013-14: Went 10-17 during the season, including 6-12 in duals...Won by pin twice...Took second place at 184 pounds with a 4-1 day at Northern Colorado's Old Chicago Open...Went 1-5 in WWC action and 0-2 at the tournament...Faced two ranked opponents during the year, losing both times.
2012-13: Redshirted the season, but went 8-3 while wrestling unattached...Finished first at 184 pounds at UNC's Old Chicago Open Nov. 17 after going 4-0 in competition, including one pin, two decisions and a sudden victory decision...Took second place at the Cowboy Open Nov. 3 with a 3-1 performance that included a major decision.
2011-12: Missed the middle portion of the season due to an injury, but still managed to finish with an 11-10 overall record and a 5-6 mark in duals... Placed second at the NCAA West Regionals, winning 9-2 in the second round over Josh Mohr from Air Force before losing in the championship match, 12-4 to ninth-ranked Alfonso Hernandez from Wyoming... Placed sixth at the Michigan State Open with a 32 record and was 2-1 at the Old Chicago Open before having to withdraw.
2010-11: As a true freshman posted a record of 18-12 on the year and went 7-7 in duals... Was the second seed at the NCAA West Regional at 197 pounds... Won his first nine matches of the season, including winning titles at both the Cowboy Open and the Old Chicago Open... Had another stretch of four straight wins later in the season... Has six wins by major decision, one technical fall and one fall (5:45).
High School: Wrestled for coach Chris Feist and the Tahoma Bears ... Lettered all four years in wrestling and three years in footballl ... Four-time league champion, three-time regional champion, and three-time state champion ... Honorable mention all-state in football ... Also recruited by Boise State and Oregon State.
Personal: Born on Dec. 10, 1991 in Tacoma, Wash. ... Son of Kevin and Eileen Bayer ... One older brother and one younger sister ... Plans to major in education at Northern Colorado.
