FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Northern Colorado baseball mounted a late-inning rally, but it wasn't enough to erase an early deficit in a 9–4 loss to No. four Arkansas in Wednesday's midweek finale.

Arkansas set the tone early, pushing across three runs in the first three innings and consistently applying pressure at the plate. The Razorbacks added to their lead with a two-run fourth and later broke the game open in the seventh, finishing with nine runs on 11 hits.

The Bears were held quiet through the first six innings, managing just one hit against Arkansas starter Peyton Lee, who struck out six over five scoreless frames. Northern Colorado broke through late, scoring four runs in the eighth inning to cut into the deficit. Brandon Sanchez provided the big swing with a two-run home run, finishing 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two walks. Sam Pease added a two-run hit of his own, going 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Brien Kenny, Ethan Mooser and Easton Bryant each recorded a hit as the Bears totaled five on the day.

On the mound, Logan Moser took the loss after allowing three runs over 2.1 innings. UNC cycled through several pitchers, including Lucas Stone and Mason Bright, but couldn't slow Arkansas offense to close the gap.

ON DECK: Northern Colorado continues its road swing with a trip to Omaha to resume Summit League play against the Omaha Mavericks. The three-game conference series is set to begin on Friday, March 20.
