Bears Close Graduate Classic With All-Time Mark and Runner-Up Relay Finish

LINCOLN, Neb. – Northern Colorado track & field closed out the Graduate Classic on Saturday with strong sprint and middle-distance performances, highlighted by another addition to the UNC all-time list and a runner-up finish in the men's 4x400-meter relay at the meet hosted by University of Nebraska.
On the women's side, the Bears were led by Monique Stewart in the 800 meters, as she placed sixth overall with a time of 2:13.31 to move into No. 6 on UNC's all-time indoor list. In the sprints, Donice Bruno-Ezealah paced Northern Colorado in the 200 meters with a 10th-place finish (25.95), followed by Alison Hoodak in 17th (26.35). Marely Del Campo, Kara Sidwell and Annison Pound rounded out the event for the Bears.
The men's team turned in multiple top-10 finishes in the 200 meters, led by Raphael Egbuchilem's fourth-place effort (21.96). Edgar Garcia placed sixth (22.24), Johnny Fisher finished eighth (22.25) and Christopher Cheatham followed in 10th (22.38), as UNC placed four athletes among the top 10. Logan Gullett added a ninth-place finish in the men's 800 meters, crossing in 1:58.22.
Northern Colorado capped the meet with a strong showing in the men's 4x400-meter relay, as the quartet of Egbuchilem, Cheatham, Garcia and Fisher finished second overall with a time of 3:20.32 to close out the weekend.
